When the world seems crazy, I think it’s important to notice the little things that make you happy.

The things that make you happy will obviously be different for everyone but these are a few things that made me feel joyful recently.

My first thing is basically a fancy bun 🙂 This might be the best bread I ever had – and I love bread!!

I had this at a restaurant in Canmore called Sauvage. It is their ‘cabin bread’. It is made partially with pine bark flour!  This bun is served warm with whipped butter and smoked sea salt and it is really delicious.

The second thing that made me really happy last month was skating on Lake Minnewanka.

The conditions were perfect on the day we went and that does not happen all the time.

I love to skate and skating on a glacial lake was really special and it made me so happy.

I am a member of a facebook group called “Wild Ice Alberta” and it is a pretty good way to stay updated on outdoor skating.

The third thing that made me ridiculously happy last month was seeing the new Bob Dylan film called  “A Complete Unknown”.  The film is well written, the sets are amazing and Timothée Chalamet is extraordinary as Bob Dylan.

I think I loved it also because I am a Dylan fan and his music was so important to me in my formative years. Nothing like nostalgia to make one happy!

What is making you happy these days? Are you a Bob Dylan fan or a skater or maybe you just love warm bread! 😆
