This month I am going a little upscale with my picks. I’m not independently wealthy (trust me) but there are some things that I am loving this month that are worth the price to me.

Number one is a fully automatic expresso maker. There are many brands that are good; I have this one .

I always thought ‘I don’t have the counter space’, or ‘I can go out for a special coffee’ or ‘I’m not that fancy’ 😆 Now that I have it … I absolutely love it. It feels like a luxury to wake up and push a button for a really good cup of coffee. I like a latte so I get some morning protein in with a higher protein milk. 💅🏻

Number two is my  Oura ring.  It is a health metrics tracker that originally I wanted in order to track my sleep, but it has a lot of other data that I find useful as well. Heart rate, temperature – it even let me know when I was getting sick with a stomach flu. It does require a monthly subscription but it is not super expensive at $8.50 a month.

I find that knowing the data on how I sleep has changed my habits for the better. ‘What can be measured can be managed’ as they say. I know when my most deep and restorative sleep occurs and so I make sure to try and get to bed on time!

Number three is my Airbnb trips. I know Airbnb can be problematic sometimes for the gentrification of neighbourhoods in certain places and I think they will have to address this concern more in the future but for now, I have had a lot of success using this service.

While not full proof, I can say that 95% of my bookings have turned out really well! I pay attention to the reviews, to the pictures and I try to be a really good tenant while I am there.

In my case I am able to take longer trips and this makes them actually less expensive sometimes than a one or two week trip. There are discounts for longer stays and I can cook some of my own meals while I’m there. Here is the apartment I am staying in this coming February and March in the city of Guanajuato Mexico.

I hope this has made you think about what ‘luxuries’ are important to you! I spend my money on these things because they are important to me but each of us is different. What are some luxuries you consider ‘worth it’? Let me know in the comments below.
