I enjoy finding things that help me accomplish my goals.

Side note – a few words about the concept of ‘goals’. I have never been a huge goals person – I think some of us are more content by nature and some of us are more driven and ambitious. I see the wisdom in both. The goals I have are long-term-chip-away-at-it kinda goals.

One goal is I have is to dress well and enjoy my style without buying a lot of stuff.

Another is to learn Spanish.

Yet another goal is to lower my resting heart rate!

1. This YouTube channel has a slow-fashion focus. She teaches you how to look at what you already have and make some new outfits.

Bonus – she is Canadian and is traveling in Croatia right now. 😍

2. I am so excited to tell you about this podcast if you are trying to learn Spanish called Simple stories in Spanish. You can get it on your podcast provider as well. I love to listen to the stories while I walk my dog and if I do nothing else at least I keep hearing Spanish spoken. Slowly. With good enunciation. It is not enough to hear the language of course – you need to speak it and even read a little – but it is a good start.

3. One indicator of good cardiovascular health is your resting heart rate. It is tough to test without a monitor though. Some smart watches have a heart rate monitor but they can be somewhat inaccurate. I am taking a cardio class online and it required a heart rate monitor so we could measure the improvements through the weeks. I took a resting heart rate at the beginning and i will test again in a couple of weeks. I have to say it is pretty cool to watch your rate go up and then see how fast you can recover.
