My three favorite things this month are all activities I enjoy outside my regular exercise routine of yoga and weights. In fact, these things are possible because I exercise!
Walking. It is the most natural of human movements and one we might take for granted until it becomes difficult. I went on a fabulous hike with friends here in Mexico, but just the sidewalks in Mexico can be an adventure. Getting around and having the resilience to walk long distances if needed is really nice to be able to do when traveling.
Biking. Everything is better when you have a bike! My airbnb hostess lent me one and although it is a little rough, I get around everywhere on it. I can get from my house to the beach in about 5 minutes on my bike. I have even made it to Bucerias and back a few times on my bike after only one mishap 🙂 There is a bike path nearly two miles long and follows the Avenida Paseo de los Cocoteros, just a few yards from the beach.
Swimming. I love to swim in an outdoor pool on a hot day. Swimming in the ocean is good too but I like the pool. Luckily for me there is a public pool right at the beach in Nuevo Vallarta. It is 50 pesos to swim and you can order a snack or lunch from the nearby restaurant.
