A couple of years ago, I wrote about how vanity, pride and style are a part of the tantric yoga philosphy I study and you can find that post here.

I love a bright lipstick. I think it can really light up your face and maybe even improve your mood and confidence. Have you seen this video with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez putting on a bright red lipstick and also talking about making the world a better place? Brilliant.

Even if you have lines (like me) around your mouth, remember, if you are smiling and talking, that’s what gets noticed, so go ahead and rock a bold lip.

My first favorite thing is this lipstick from the drugstore called Maybelline color sensational matte.  Normally I don’t try matte lipsticks because find them too drying, but I also want a lipstick that lasts awhile!

These go on smoothly (to hydrated lips) and are easy to blot.

This color is called Almond Rose.

My second favorite thing is the Inkey list Glycolic acid. It is sometimes on the shelf for $12 at shoppers drug mart so if you see it – snap it up. It can really refine your skin.  If you are older, your skin does not turn over as fast anymore and this helps exfoliate.  It can be pretty strong so, while not for everyone, my skin loves it. This combined with tretinoin and sunscreen are the only skin care things I really can’t live without.

Tretinoin (the gold standard in skin topicals) is available over the counter in Mexico and cost me $2.37 CND.

Sunscreen is non negotiable if you use tretinoin so – this Aveeno mineral stick is good for on the go.

My last favorite thing this month is this new-to-me Coach bag.

I got it from this Canadian seller on Etsy for $45. It is the perfect size and and beautiful thick leather.

Vespucci (here in my neighborhood) also has some really beautiful previously-loved bags. I like to shop local and second hand because I can buy better quality for less and also, the world needs less stuff.

what are your favorite things this month?
