Some things are expensive but worth it – but some things you shouldn’t spend a lot of money on in my opinion.
For example, I actually hardly ever wear eyeshadow – it doesn’t seem necessary in my work life 🙂
Besides, I never really learned how to use it and now that my eyes are older most eyeshadow just seems to crease badly. But this product is a simple and cheap antidote to all of that and is a lovely holiday upgrade for a night out. You can dip your ring finger into the pot and swap across the lid and you are done! It does not budge or crease in my experience.
If you are going to do the ‘makeup’ thing for a christmas party, you may want to hold it all down with this setting mist. Sometimes makeup can slide around and rub off by the end of the night but with this inexpensive setting spray, you can make it home without raccoon eyes or misplaced concealer.
Finally, you want to take off that makeup at the end of the night and Pond’s cold cream is an old fashioned favorite of mine. Cleansing balms are all the rage now because if you wear water resistant sunscreen or any makeup at all, oil dissolves these things really well. You could actually just use plain mineral oil, but Ponds is a little more elegant and not much more expensive. I use the cold cream with a soft cloth to remove my sunscreen and make-up at night and about 4 times a week I follow that with a cleanser with salicylic acid. Although I don’t have acne, the mild exfoliant in this cleanser gets my skin really clean and helps with any flakiness caused by my beloved Retina A.
