This month I have things that I love that I paid a little more for than I might normally. Two are makeup and the last one is a supplement.

I usually go for the simple and inexpensive option, especially in cosmetics.

Often the expensive makeup is just expensive because of marketing and packaging. Sometimes the same company owns various brands and uses the same formulas in their ‘luxury’ brands as they do in the drug store stuff.

Having said that, I just like these products so much that they seem to me to be worth the extra money.

Bronzer – Soleil Tan de Chanel.

This formula has been around forever and is a cult favorite. I never really knew I needed a bronzer until I saw this stuff in action. I am obsessed with sunscreen now and sometimes I look a little pasty. It just warms up the skin without being at all sparkly. There is so much product in this container and you need so little – one jar will last you the rest of your life. NOT kidding.

Buxom Powerpump lip balm

This is a lip balm that reacts with the PH in your lips to leave a little bit of color that stays put.

I like this because I’m lazy and I don’t have to reapply it like regular lipstick and it conditions your lips. Again – since i have gotten older – a little color in the lips goes a long way to brightening up the face. It says it also plumps but that is very subtle. Can you find cheaper lip balm? yes. But since I bought this-  it is my favorite one.

AOR UTI Cleanse –

I don’t use a lot of supplements but these ones are really good.

I started using the UTI cleanse because I have always been prone to UTIs (Urinary Tract Infections, sometimes called bladder infections).

Many women become more susceptible to these types of painful infections as they get older too, especially after menopause.

I find this supplement once or twice a day has pretty much completely prevented them for me.

It is not only the cranberry which is helpful to discourage the bacterial growth but the D-Mannose which has been proven to prevent the bacteria from sticking to the bladder and urethra.

I also use the Bone Basics which I like. It has a more bioavailable type of calcium plus other things to help you absorb the calcium. It says the dosage is six times a day (!) but I take it twice a day.
