This month I am going to lead a retreat in Mexico so packing is on my mind!
I will cover three categories of stuff I’m going to bring – Shoes, Dresses, Toiletries.
Shoes are a tricky thing. They take up a lot of space but if you don’t bring the right ones you are miserable. Since I will be gone three weeks – I have four pairs of shoes to bring.
The Vans slides are a favorite – comfortable and cool, they will take me to the beach and around the pool.
The white sneakers are very breathable, with perforations in the fabric upper and also very light and comfortable with zero heel making them a great walking shoe. Sneakers or athletic shoes look good with dresses too, the sporty look is in!
The clogs are definitely well worn but they give me a little height without an actual raised heel. They are close toed for dinners out.
The leather sandals have straps in the right place to hold the shoe on comfortably while walking and are another beach or casual dinner option.
Dresses are not something I wear here very much at all. But in Mexico I find dresses the easiest and coolest and most comfortable thing to wear! I will bring other clothes of course but these are two new dresses I will be bringing for sure. They are both super light and can be rolled up small.
Toiletries. This is something I tend to overpack because I think I need everything! Then I get there and I don’t. 🙂 I have these four empty bottles which I will fill with shampoo/bodywash (I like Dr. Bonners ) one I will fill with hair conditioner and the other two with moisturizer. One moisturizer is for day and one for evening. Moisturizer is the one thing I never have enough of.
These are the two moisturizers I’ll decant into the bottles. The Vaseline one has an SPF and the other is a gradual self tanner and firming moisturizer. I protect my skin but I like a little color too!
I hope this simplifies my routine and I can concentrate on having fun and relaxing into the yoga retreat!
Bonus – a new fanny pack! What do you think? is a fanny pack a fashion do or don’t? let me know in the comments
If you call it a “hip pack” it is in fashion again.
