Welcome April!
Hello Spring ?
Many people in Yoga and Ayurveda start a spring cleanse in this month called Panchakarma.
Here in Canada I will be waiting for actual spring to do something like this. Kinda. I find my body naturally craves some bitter greens when the weather turns.
Right now, I need to get through till the snow melts with some good comfort food, wine and a little shopping. Is it so wrong?
This month my three favorite things are to be enjoyed in moderation and without regret.
My kids and I don’t go out for meals very often. Trust me, my kids know how to cook (a little).
When my daughter came home from a trip the other day, I picked her up at the airport and she was hungry. We decided to go to a restaurant we had liked before called CIBO on 17 Ave SW.
It just so happened we came during happy hour (3-5pm) and everything was on special.
Pizzas for $5. Wine or beer for $4. Delicious beets with goat cheese, $4. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and the prosciutto and the fries with parmesan cheese. In other words, way to much food. Most of it got eaten. They also have really good nightly specials. We first discovered this restaurant on Sunday night about a month ago – pizza night!
This wine is a really tasty chardonnay.
I’ll be honest, I am really conflicted about recommending any alcohol because moderation is so key for this one. Say no for every time you say yes.
Not everyone likes chardonnay and I understand it. But there is something about the velvety finish on this one that is soothing.
Finally next door to CIBO is Steeling Home. I love this little shop! I will admit we did not buy anything (how is that for moderation?) but next time i need some beautiful salad tongs or a cute ring for a gift I’m going back.
stay hopeful my friends!
Want to shed your winter?
